I originally came to Las Vegas in 1972. Throughout this time the population of Las Vegas has grown from approximately 350,000 to its current estimated level of approximately 2,062,253 residents (as of October 2013). My long history in Las Vegas helps to provide valuable personal insight into the five sub-markets which comprise the Las Vegas Valley area today (City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, unincorporated Clark County, Boulder City). I began my career in commercial real estate as an associate with “CB Commercial Real Estate Group”, now “CB Richard Ellis”, immediately following my graduation from UNLV in 1987 where I earned my BS degree in Business Administration/Management. I was assigned as an apartment specialist where I concentrated on the 100 unit plus apartment market. I received the “Rookie of the Year” award in 1989, as well as “Salesman of the Year” award 1991. I left CB Commercial in 1992 to become “Vice President, Nevada Properties” for an interstate (California/Nevada) apartment management company where I was primarily responsible for the management of approximately 1,500 apartment units throughout Las Vegas, while continuing to provide brokerage services to existing clients. After gaining a thorough understanding of all phases of multifamily management I returned my focus to brokerage in 1994 and opened “Abel Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc.” in 1995. My combined experience in local brokerage as well as apartment management allows me to offer potential investors a more complete investment and operational property analysis. In 2010 as market conditons changed and oppotunities arose I began focusing my primary activities on the management of 100 unit and above properties where I perform full services including site and staff supervison, all accounting functions and financual reporting. I currently maintain approximately 1,000 units in four properties and have a principle interest in one of those properties. My future plans include adding additonal properties to my management portfolio with exisiting clients as well as purchasing properties throughout the Las Vegas area through the formation of general partnerships. Throughout my career I have kept close ties to the local apartment management community. Our associations help to provide strong verifiable market information needed by both brokerage and management clients in making their investment decisions.
